Disneynature Explore is a fun and exciting app that uses augmented reality to get kids ages 4 and up connected to nature. To start, I selected the lion. My challenge was to help her hunt a warthog by tapping the patches of tall grass—but only when the warthog wasn’t looking! Each challenge begins with the app prompting the player to take a photo to use as the background of the challenge. The photo can be saved in the Disneynature Journal so kids can revisit them later. I found the graphics to be colorful and engaging, and the animals’ movements smooth and true to life. With five animals and four challenges each, this app provides plenty of exploration and adventure for kids. The app also features video clips of real animals for extra play value.
