Disney is giving kids another reason to belt “Into the Unknown” in every room of the house.
As part of Disney’s year-long Ultimate Disney Princess event, the new generation of female Disney stars is taking the spotlight in a musical special airing on Aug. 27 at 7:30 p.m. ET/PT. This screening will be packed with princess power as young performers take on new renditions of Disney classics.
Princess Remixed: An Ultimate Princess Celebration has a stacked lineup. Social media kid personality Txunamy Ortiz will emcee the event, narrating the special that honors the empowering traits of Disney’s female royalty. As the night goes on, viewers can listen to young Disney stars Dara Reneé, Frankie Rodriguez, Julia Lester, Izabela Rose, Ruth Righi, and Sophia Hammons as they perform iconic princess ballads in their own special way. Classic songs including “Into the Unknown,” “Almost There,” and “Part of your World” will be fused with R&B, pop, and rock.
To prepare for a night filled with musical talent, Disney Channel will kick off the day with a double screening of kids’ favorite movies: Frozen and Tangled. Once kids have watched the brave adventures of Elsa, Anna, and Rapunzel, they can watch (and sing along to) Princess Remixed. And don’t worry — the party doesn’t end there. Right after everyone’s vocal cords have been put to the test, kids can watch a new princess-themed episode of Disney’s Magic Bake-Off at 8 p.m. EDT.
Kids can get a sneak peek of what’s in store on Aug. 13, when Walt Disney Records releases three upcoming singles from the special. Princess Remixed: An Ultimate Princess Celebration will be available for streaming on on Disney+ following the event.
