Dancing hamsters are taking over the world!
Hamsta World and AMGI Animation Studios are bringing the newest TikTok sensation to YouTube with a new series. “Dancin’ Around da World” features eight dance-happy animated hamsters as they rock and sing their way across the globe. The first episode, now up on YouTube, features “Da Hamstas” break dancing on the Eiffel Tower before diving into 10 minutes of catchy renditions of your favorite pop songs.
After owning a hamster, Dutch art director Saskia Keiser realized that the small, simple lives of hampsters were worth a big laugh. Keiser created Da Hamstas in 2017, now spreading the hampster love through every form of social media imaginable. Da Hamstas are now hitting it big on TikTok, with dance challenges that are frequently one of the top-performing content categories on the app.
The YouTube series offers a more extended version of that dance content, such as animated videos with adorable sayings and pop song covers. Each video will premiere on WildBrain Spark’s YouTube network with the animated dance numbers in various live-action destinations around the world, such as the Roman Colosseum, the Great Wall of China, the Statue of Liberty, the London Eye, and more.
