Daisy Plays-With-Me Kitty, from Hasbro

One look at Daisy Plays-With-Me Kitty, from Hasbro, and I had to claim her for review. After all, she’s a cat, and I’m a total cat person. Not only that, Daisy looks like my Jilly, another selling point I couldn’t resist. So, over to my desk she came, package and all, so we could get acquainted.

And get acquainted we did. Daisy’s motion sensor was active the entire time I struggled to extract her from her box (not unlike attempting to remove either of my cats from their carriers at the vet—coincidence, or ironic design? You decide.) and she meowed, purred, tried to pounce, and moved her paws through the whole ordeal before I was able to get under her back foot to turn her off for a moment so I could figure out how she works.

Daisy features three sensors that respond to kids: a forehead light sensor, a back sensor, and a paw sensor. When kids wave Daisy’s included toy in front of her face or pet her head, stroke her back, or squeeze her paw, she responds by jumping up, pouncing, wiggling her paws, or meowing and purring. Squeezing her paw twice makes Daisy meow her kitty melody, and pressing her back twice gets her into cuddle mode. Daisy goes to sleep after 45 seconds of inactivity, or by switching her into off mode.

Daisy responds very well, and it was fun to see her pounce at her toy and move her paws in cuddle mode, something cats do when they’re happy and content. Her pink bow and heart tag are adorable additions, and her fur is soft. I’d say she puts the A in cat!
