Crayons are so simple, yet so important. Think about all of the imagination and color that comes pouring out of a box of Crayola crayons.

Crayola released the first 64-count crayon box in 1958, introducing new shades that we’ve come to know and love, and a built-in crayon sharpener. This year, the 64-count crayon box is celebrating its golden birthday, turning 64 years old. To celebrate, Crayola is launching a limited-edition Happy 64th Birthday Crayons Tin and a limited-edition crayon case.

The Happy 64th Birthday Crayons will obviously include 64 different colors, with eight special effect confetti crayons to really ramp up the celebratory feeling. The special crayons tin will be available at Walmart, while the crayon case will be available throughout August at Family Dollar. Families will also be able to find commemorative birthday crayon boxes on crayola.com.

Plus, there’s also a giveaway! The 64-count crayons tin will also feature a special QR code on the back of the box that will lead to crayola.com, where families can find printable coloring pages and a chance to enter the Happy 64th Birthday Sweepstakes. 64 sweepstakes winners will receive the limited-edition crayon box with 16 winners chosen each week between June 13-July 8. Five random entries will also be chosen at the end of the sweepstakes to win a celebration swag box.

Beginning on July 14, families can take part in a month-long event in the Crayola Create and Play app featuring themed activities, new content, and exclusive rewards.

Happy birthday, 64-count crayons! You’ve never looked better.
