Come one, come all, to the five-star bug hotel!

The Craft-Tastic Nature: Make a Bug Hotel from PlayMonster‘s Ann Willaims Group division invites kids ages 4 and up to create their own teeny tiny hotel to give insects a place to rest and nest. Then, they get to decorate it any way they want and use materials from their backyards to make it even cozier.

This kit comes with everything kids need to build the structure, and I love that it includes interlocking wood pieces to make building easy with no tools required. Plus, it ensures a very sturdy build, which adds to the five-star experience. Younger kids may need some help from an adult for the building portion, so nothing beats some bonding during crafting time.

Then, it’s time to decorate! There is a yard of cotton thread and 55 waterproof stickers included, featuring window designs, bugs, and other hotel items, to completely customize the project. My personal favorite sticker is the red carpet for the grand entrance. If kids want to take it a step further, they can pull out their art supplies and use crayons and markers to decorate some more.

To add a final touch, kids can fill it with leaves, flowers, and other objects they find around nature to make sure their future guests feel as comfortable as possible. Last, it’s time to name the hotel! From Air Bee and Bee to the Snug Bug Hotel, I’m sure your kids will find the most creative and adorable names.

This activity kit encourages creativity and an interest in nature, and the end result is a super cute mini building that kids can place in their backyards, in the garden, or elsewhere. Perhaps kids will find some permanent residents or some insects who are just passing through for the night. Either way, kids can use the included identification guide in the kit to see who’s who and learn about their new little friends.

The Craft-Tastic Nature: Make a Bug Hotel is a fun craft that incorporates an educational way for kids to learn about the bugs around them. Plus, they get to know what it’s like to be the manager of a hotel! 😜
