It’s been 30 years since everyone’s favorite chipmunk companions had their share of spotlight in the Disney comedy series Chip ‘n Dale: Rescue Rangers. This May, the rodent brothers are set to make a cinematic comeback in a new feature film of the same title — and to build excitement, Disney has revealed the movie’s first trailer and poster.
The new movie follows Chip and Dale as they navigate modern-day Los Angeles — which is populated by both humans and cartoons — after the cancellation of their successful TV series. Chip (voiced by John Mulaney) has succumbed to the humdrum of suburbia and works as an insurance salesman. Dale (voiced by Andy Samberg) can’t seem to let go of his glory days, undergoing CGI surgery and working the nostalgia convention circuit. When a former castmate mysteriously disappears, Chip and Dale must reunite and reclaim their Rescue Rangers personas to save their friend’s life.
Set to Doja Cat’s hit song “Best Friend,” the trailer opens with a brief history of Chip and Dales stardom and features *some* of the most action-packed, heartbreaking, and hilarious moments of the film. Check it out below and get an inside look at the furry-friend adventures coming to Disney+ on May 20!
