Elmo and Big Bird are heading back to the city next month with new episodes of Sesame Street and Sesame Street Mecha Builders on Cartoon Network and HBO’s Cartoonito. Next month, nine new episodes will debut between the two shows. Throughout the episodes, the Sesame Street gang will solve problems, learn new things, and help others!
Four new episodes of Sesame Street will launch in January, beginning on Jan. 5 with “Big Bird’s Happy to be Me Club.” Viewers can follow Big Bird as he tries to join the Good Bird’s Club. Instead, he finds that the other members are bullies that want him to change who he is.
In “Gold Medal Tango” on Jan. 12, Elmo, Rosita, and Chris make Tango a doggy obstacle course, but struggle to get their hula hoop to stand up on its own. Brett Goldstein also makes a special guest appearance in this episode. In “Bubble Trouble,” Elmo, Rosita, Zoe, and Charlie celebrate national bubble week. “Bubble Trouble” comes out on Jan. 19. Finally, Big Bird’s aunt, Nani Bird, visits in the “Nani Bird Visits” episode on Jan. 26 to teach the Sesame Street gang all about Hawaiian culture.
All four Sesame Street episodes will be available to stream on Cartoonito on HBO Max.
New episodes of Sesame Street Mecha Builders will begin premiering on Cartoon Network starting on Jan. 16 before heading to HBO Max.
In “All Mechas on Deck/Where There’s a Wheel, There’s a Way,” which comes out on Jan. 16, Lloyd’s tests on a wind-up go-cart fail because the car keeps running out of energy and Sif gets pushed off course by a satellite as she tries to land at the rocket launch site. On Jan. 17, “Silly Hat Catastrophe!/Zee In A Bottle” follows Lloyd as his hat-selling venture pelts the city with silly hats. Zee makes a rocket in a bottle, but gets stuck in the bottle with it.
“MacBarm’s Day Off/Playhouse Problems” comes out on Jan. 18. In one part of the episode, Zee gives MacBarm a day off and harvests his carrots, but needs the Mechas’ help when his Zee mobile breaks down. In the second part of the episode, the Mechas need to take apart a playhouse that gets stuck in a train tunnel. On Jan. 19, “Can’t Stop the Martians/Best Nest Test” will show The Martians trying to land in the Pretty Big City and Zee trying to communicate with Sif even though there’s a bird in the satellite dish.
Finally, “Get in Gear/Free-Wheelin’ Ferris Wheel” airs on Jan. 20. In the first half of the episode, nobody can tell what time it is when the clock tower in the Pretty Big City breaks. In the second half of the episode, Zee shows off his inventions, including a rocket-powered Ferris wheel!
Each Sesame Street Mecha Builders episode will premiere at 9 a.m. ET on Cartoon Network first. Then, they will be available to stream on HBO Max starting on Saturday, Jan. 21. January will be a great month for kids who love Elmo, Big Bird, and the rest of the gang with nine new episodes featuring the Sesame Street friends.
