There’s something extra special about storytime when it involves a holiday-themed book.
Kids can join in on virtual storytime at home with Barnes & Noble’s holiday read-alongs this month. The next event takes place today with a reading of How Do Dinosaurs Say Happy Chanukah?, written by Jane Yolen and illustrated by Mark Teague. The book is about little dinosaurs that love to celebrate the Festival of Lights, while getting into some mischief along the way. There are accompanying activities, including a coloring sheet, a maze, and make-your-own dreidel instructions, available for download here.
On Dec. 12, Jimmy Fallon prepare kids for one of the most exciting weeks of the year with a reading of his book, 5 More Sleeps ’til Christmas. Click here for the downloadable activity kit to enjoy at home, including a countdown calendar, a matching game, and more.
On Dec. 19, Kathie Lee Gifford will read her book, Hello, Little Dreamer, a hopeful and affirming story that teaches kids about God. Click here to download the activity packet, featuring a coloring page, a hidden word game, and more.
The videos will launch on the Barnes & Noble YouTube channel, where families can also catch up on readings from earlier this month, including Danica McKellar reading How the Grinch Stole Christmas! by Dr. Seuss and Natalie Portman reading The Polar Express by Chris Van Allsburg.
