Barbie and her bestie Barbie are heading to the Big Apple this Friday with the debut of Barbie: It Takes Two.

No, you’re not seeing double: This new Netflix series from Mattel Television follows best friends Barbie “Malibu” Roberts and Barbie “Brooklyn” Roberts as they try to reach musical stardom at the prestigious Handler School of Performing Arts in New York City. The girls get caught up in the hustle and bustle of the city that never sleeps, learning that they’ll need to lean on each other, old and new friends, and their families to make their dreams become a reality.

The two Barbies were first introduced in last year’s Barbie: Big City, Big Dreams animated movie musical event. Barbie: It Takes Two will teach viewers about the importance of friendship and chasing your dreams while featuring original music and catchy choreography. In the series, the two Barbies will go to school, record a music demo, and go on fun adventures — including camping. This marks Barbie’s first full-length TV series since Dreamhouse Adventures, Barbie: It Takes Two.

The first installment of 13 episodes will debut on Netflix in the U.S. this Friday, April 8, with even more episodes launching this fall. Check out the trailer below!

Mattel also released a line of dolls and playsets inspired by Barbie: It Takes Two. Fans can dive even further into Barbie’s world with the Barbie: It Takes Two Soundtrack (available to download or stream at all music retailers on April 8), new characters from the movie in the Barbie DreamHouse Adventures game (available for download on the App Store or Google Play), and fresh content on the Barbie YouTube channel.
