The difference between ordinary and extraordinary is that little bit of extra — and Mattel’s new line of Barbie Extra Mini dolls is giving just that.

The original Barbie Extra dolls first launched in 2020, bringing over-the-top style into the Barbie universe. The new collection of Barbie Extra Minis are sporting the same flashy fashion as their predecessors, but now, they’re half the size!

Designed for kids ages 3 and up, the Barbie Extra Minis are 5.5 inches tall (or short). Offered in four different styles with personalized aesthetics, each mini doll includes extra-long rooted hair, fashion accessories, and a doll stand. The dolls are ready to strike a pose at any given moment, designed with points of articulation at the knees and elbows.

The Barbie Extra Minis are undeniably adorable and their accessories even more so. Each of the four dolls in the collection displays true originality. For example, one of the dolls embraces the funk with a purple faux-fur jacket over a pink sprinkle dress, while another wears an edgy, lime green, two-piece set and a beanie atop blue hair. The clothing and accessories are made with durable material and are easily removable for young fashionistas that want to mix and match styles.

While the dolls have great mobility, kids will likely have to hold them throughout the duration of playtime since the dolls tend to fall over. The doll stands are easy to put together — although younger kids might need a parent’s assistance — but with the extra accessories, it can be difficult to latch the doll onto the hook.

These small dolls know how to make a BIG statement, and they’re the perfect addition to imaginative play for kids who love to be extra themselves. The fun and fashionable Barbie Extra Minis teach kids that they are never too much!
