Back to school is an exciting time of year for kids, parents, and teachers. New school supplies, friend reunions, and the thrill of learning make for smiles! I like to start off the year by offering a back-to-school basket for the teacher and classroom.
What’s great about a back-to-school basket for the teacher is that you’re able to get some things that will be useful and appreciated. I like to include things that are for both the classroom and the teacher.
- Hand soap
- Hand lotion
- Post-it notes
- Games
- Dice
- Markers or fun pens
- Cleaning supplies (cleaning wipes, paper towels)
- Candy (nut-free, of course!)
- Mints
- Toys (little items like party favors for classroom prizes)
- First-aid supplies
- Stickers
- Clipboard
- Gift cards
There’s so many helpful things that you can put into a back-to-school teacher basket. I think it’s important to make it fun, which is why I like to include the toys and games. Learning should be a good time, and teachers don’t often have the budget to provide extra games or toys, and there are so many out there that help teach learning in an exciting way.
What’s great about a basket like this is you can make one anytime throughout the school year. These are things that are always in demand, and will always be appreciated. Whip one up for the start of the school year, teacher appreciation week, or just because! As a parent who’s not always able to volunteer in the classroom, I love knowing that I can still be helpful.
Do you like to do anything special for the teacher at the beginning of the school year?
