One of the newest toys to hit the shelves after previewing at Toy Fair 2014 are ZipStix from Hog Wild Toys. They are so much to fun to play, even for adults!
So how do they work?
ZipStix remind me of a combination of slap bracelets (you remember those, right?) and finger-sized skateboards. Simply lock the ZipStix by grabbing both ends and flex it until you hear it “click.” Next, line up your ZipStix to the peg on the launcher. Hold down your launcher and gently push down until it begin to curl. Release and get ready to see it launch!
ZipStix are recommended for kids ages 4 and up but Ben got the concept pretty easily– you just have to watch the little pieces with younger kids. There are many different ways to play with ZipStix: crash them, race them, or just have fun with them!
Each of the ZipStix boards are part of a team: Turbo, Zilla, Blaster, or Wild. Kids can collect them or trade with their friends! There are four different packs available for purchase.
- ZipStix Starter Pack (one ZipStix and one Launcher) Starter Pack has everything you need to get zipping! High-octane graphics lay flat like a skateboard and then curl up like a runaway wheel when launched!
- ZipStix Dual Pack (two ZipStix, one Launcher, and three Crash Cones): Dual Pack zips you to the next level with one more ZipStix and the addition of the three Crash Cones. Lock and unload on the Crash Cones – a fun fly-away target to aim for!
- ZipStix Stunt Pack (two ZipStix, two Launchers, three Crash Cones, and one Kicker Ramp): Stunt Pack lets you crash and fly! Use the dual-angle Kicker Ramp to compete for distance. Set the Crash Cones beyond a hazard and battle for distance and accuracy.
- ZipStix Mega Pack (six ZipStix, two Launchers, six Crash Cones, one Kicker Ramp and one Quarter Pipe Ramp): Mega Pack gives you more of everything and introduces the Quarter Pipe for unbelievable sick tricks.
There are so many ZipStix (72 styles in series one!) to collect.
