Super Why ABC Letter Game is a new adorable preschool game from University Games based on the popular PBS Kids TV show. Designed for kids ages 3 and up, the game helps kids practice reading and alphabet skills. Kids can take on the powers of the Super Why team to collect cards as they travel around the game board. The board and skill-based character cards work together to help kids build reading skills through identifying letters, rhyming, correcting silly sentences, and learning how to read basic words.
Alpha Pig with Alphabet Power cards have players point to the uppercase letter on the board that matches the lowercase letter on the card. Wonder Red with Word Power challenges players to read words or look at the pictures on the cards and say another word or words that rhyme. Princess Pesto with Spelling Power has players saw the word on the card, then point to the first letter or two of that word on the board. Finally, Super Why with the Power to Read challenges players to point to the world on the board that should replace an underlined word on the card to make the silly sentence make sense.
The game actually can grow with your kids’ reading level. For beginners there are clues at the bottom of the card—as they grow older, they can rely on the clues less and more on their own ability to read, spell, and rhyme. The characters are absolutely adorable, which makes it fun for kids to have a favorite to play with. The challenges on the four different cards are different enough for kids to practice a variety of reading and spelling skills in one trip around the gameboard. The cards and board can also be used without the gameplay if kids want a little extra practice.
