Skylanders fans, rev your engines! Activision, the trailblazer behind the toys-to-life category, revealed the latest installment to its mega popular Skylanders franchise: Skylanders SuperChargers. Expanding on the brand’s signature gameplay, Skylanders SuperChargers introduces never-before-seen vehicles-to-life.
For the first time, kids can explore and navigate Skylands’ mountainous terrains, deep-sea environment, and big blue skies in highly stylized vehicles that kids can play with in the real world and bring to life in the game via the new Portal of Power. These tricked-out vehicles are aligned by element and terrain type, giving players unique abilities and diverse experiences across different settings throughout the game. The real-world vehicle toys will even feature movable parts, so kids can play with them outside of the game.
In Skylanders SuperChargers, players can speed across Skylands’ roads in vehicular combat, race down roaring rapids, engage in aerial dogfights, and—of course—attempt to stop Kaos’ quest to rule over Skylands with his most sinister weapon ever: a massive Doomstation of Ultimate Doomstruction, capable of eating the sky itself.
SuperChargers brings a brand new class of heroes, fresh moves, powerful attacks, and all new weapons to the game and supports all Skylanders toys from previous games, enabling any Skylanders character to pilot land, sea, or sky-based vehicles. The fast-paced storyline allows fans to immerse themselves in an all-new, high-velocity adventure that ignites imaginations and fuels excitement as they speed through Skylands in a completely new way.
New key characters include Spitfire (left), a spirited speed demon with lightning quick reflexes and nerves of steel; Stormblade (center), a fearless daredevil with an unquenchable thirst for adventure; and Super Shot Stealth Elf (right), who has a new ninja weapon in her arsenal: the Thorn Super Shot.
As for the vehicles, Hot Streak (left) is a land vehicle of the fire element. Designed for Spitfire, the tricked-out car is made from elemental Magma rock and can max out at extreme speeds while scorching everything in its path. Sky Slicer (center), a sky vehicle of the air element and designed for Stormblade, is aerodynamic and ultra fast, with high-powered armor and weaponry. Finally, Dive Bomber (right), a sea vehicle of the water element, is designed for Dive-Clops. This submarine-like vehicle can withstand immense pressure of the deep ocean, leaving enemies with nowhere to hide.
The Starter Pack will include the game, an all-new portal, Spitfire, Super Shot Stealth Elf, and Hot Streak. Skylanders SuperChargers will be available on September 20 on Playstation 4, Playstation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, Wii U, Wii, and Nintendo 3DS. The game is available for pre-order at Amazon, Best Buy, or Gamestop.
