SINGTRIXIf you’re tone deaf like me, then you’ll definitely enjoy the Singtrix. This new live vocal system, created by the same people that invented Guitar Hero, is a new singing experience for a fun setting. The Singtrix uses next-generation karaoke technology to make pretty much anyone sound good (and if you’re anything like me, pretty decent). So whether you’re performing solo or with friends, you don’t have to be embarrassed by not being able to sing.

The magic is in the system’s natural pitch-corrector, which uses state-of-the-art technology to make a voice sound better without sounding unnatural. Depending on your skill level, you can set the pitch correction to Enhanced, Semi-Pro, and Pro for the real Broadway singer in your friend group. The main microphone also includes a “Hit” button, which triggers a live backup harmony effect created from your own voice. Also, the Singtrix Studio, the main body of the system, provides professional vocal effects ranging from Elvis to modern genres of music.

The best part about the Singtrix is that you’ll never be limited to a song choice. In fact, the songs you choose from are basically limitless. The system connects to any device—phones, tablets, and music players—using a headphone jack. So, you can play music that is saved onto your device, from the Internet such as YouTube, and any apps that can play music. In addition, Singtrix provides its own branded karaoke app, which includes a library of more than 13,000 songs and lyrics for a monthly fee and individual song purchase.

The whole bundle took me about half an hour to set up from start to finish. There are a lot of cables to keep track of once the whole thing is set up, but that doesn’t really take away from the experience. The studio system style can be changed with four color options: red, orange, black and pink. There is no hassle with batteries because the speaker and the studio need to be plugged into the wall. I would also probably use the speaker for non-karaoke needs because it seems to get pretty loud.

The Singtrix bundle includes the Singtrix “Studio” vocal effects unit, custom microphone, professional microphone stand, and a 2.1 stereo speaker system. The Limited Edition Bundle is available for $299 at Singtrix.com.
