Osmo’s Creative Starter Kit lets future artists get as creative as possible! | Source: Osmo

It’s time to get monstrously creative

With Osmo’s Creative Starter Kit, artistic genius is only a tap away. Little artists ages 4 and up will love expressing themselves through creating digital artwork while learning about problem-solving through visual thinking.

As with all Osmo products, the Creative Starter Kit is mind-blowingly simple, and comes with everything kids need to get started, minus an iPad or tablet. To begin, place the iPad or tablet in the Osmo base and slip the red Osmo cover over the camera — this will allow the camera to face downward and focus on kids’ drawings. The included instructions prompt parents to download the Osmo app, which includes the software needed to make Osmo magic. The Creative Starter Kit also comes with a whiteboard and four dry erase markers, as well as a pouch to hold the markers when playtime is over.

Once everything is set up, future designers will love playing around with the kit’s three games. The first game is called Monster and allows kids to bring their drawings to life! The game is led by a fuzzy monster that asks kids to draw different designs — the monster then pulls the drawing onto the screen and can use it himself! Little animators will love watching their drawings actually come alive.

The second game is called Masterpiece. In this one, kids learn how to draw basic concepts like lines and shapes, and then upgrade to more complex designs like superheroes and cars. For future artists that are serious about improving, this game makes learning design fun.

And the last game is called Newton. This physics-based game asks kids to guide falling balls to land on specific targets by drawing different obstacles on the screen. The balls can bounce, roll, and ricochet, causing kids to get creative with the shapes that they draw.

Although the price point is a little higher, kids get three games in one with Osmo’s innovative technology, so the kit practically pays for itself. I particularly like the Monster game, where future animators will shine. There’s something inspirational about watching a design you created come to life on your own screen. Little artists will love seeing their hard work pay off.

Plus, parents will love that there’s virtually (haha, get it) no clean up. Since everything takes place on the tablet’s screen — and the markers are dry erase — the kit gets packed up in only a few seconds. It’s perfect to take on long car rides, airplane trips, or even for a playdate.

The only question is … what will kids create first?
