Mattel Launches Magic 8 Ball App on Apple Watch, iPhone

Magic 8 Balls have been charming kids with a glimpse into the future for decades, and now, the classic fortune-telling toy is getting an upgrade.

Mattel has reimagined the Magic 8 Ball into an app compatible with iPhone and the soon-to-ship Apple Watch. The Magic 8 Ball app will offer the unpredictable and amusing answers generations of players have come to expect from the nostalgic toy.

The app gives users the ability to ask their most pressing questions on-the-go using the dictation feature on iPhones and the Apple Watch.

Users can shake their device to reveal the answer to their question—just like they can with the classic, physical toy. Or, they can simply tap the screen to see what their future holds. More modern updates: Users can share their answers with friends and family on social media, and receive daily notifications in the form of thought-provoking questions.

Magic 8 Ball will be available as a free download from the Apple Watch App Store and App Store on iPhone beginning April 24.
