LegoElves

Lego building gets a little bit more magical with the new Lego Elves line. You’ll see a bit of a new sparkle as you walk down the construction aisle, as Lego brings this new storyline to life. When Emily Jones takes an unexpected journey through a mysterious portal in her grandma’s garden, she travels through the magical world of the Elves to try to get home again. Emily enlists the help of her four Elvish friends to find the four keys to open the portal, which will let her go back home.

The first thing I noticed about this Lego Elves set—and the whole line in general—is that it’s SO PRETTY AND MAGICAL. These elves live in a cool and colorful fantasy land—Elvendale—that’s really fun to build up. Because of the fantasy aspects, pieces include bright pink diamonds and sparkly mushroom caps, which add a little magic element to your Lego build.

The Elves’ Treetop Hideaway set is especially awesome, because there’s TONS of play value here. Girls can build up the set itself, which took me about 1.5 to 2 hours to build, and then role-play with the three included minifigures: Emily, Azari Firedancer, Farran Leafshade, and the adorable panther cub Enki (P.S. Those Elf names are INCREDIBLE!). There are secret compartments to hide and discover secrets and lots of accessories to bring the world to life. Plus, when you’ve eventually exhausted all of those options, you can continue to create your own Lego Elves universe from your imagination with other Lego bricks!

This set has tons of educational value hidden away, so kids won’t even know they’re learning. Lego Elves set isn’t just a Lego set splashed with purple and pink and diamonds—it has a lot of STEM concepts built into it. The “hideaway” aspect of it has girls building through hinges and cranks of all kinds, showing them cause-and-effect and engineering skills as well.

So, journey with Emily through the portal into the magical world of Elvendale for a whole bunch of magical, fantasy fun!
