It’s time to rejoin the Chase in LEGO City.

Originally released for the Wii U in 2013, the newest version of LEGO City Undercover for the Nintendo Switch will immerse players in a fascinating world full of action and laughs.

Developed by TT Games and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, players take on the role of Officer Chase McCain, who returns to work at the LEGO City Police Department after a two-year vacation. His comeback couldn’t come at a better time, as the city is in the midst of a crime wave led by escaped convict Rex Fury. With some help from a cast of wacky characters, players must reign in all of the bad guys and restore peace to LEGO City.

Players will go through 15 levels of gameplay within the LEGO City overworld, each with a primary mission of arresting bad guys and slowly uncovering the mysteries behind the crime epidemic in LEGO City. Taking the role of an experienced police officer, players will scale tall buildings to catch perps, commandeer random vehicles for epic car chases, and use nifty gadgets like a grappling hook and a police pad to find clues. If there’s no apparent path, players will have to get creative by smashing up some surrounding objects to see what they can build in order to progress.

The combat is simple and lighthearted, making it perfect for younger players. They will have to use a bit of hand-to-hand combat and gadgetry to dizzy their opponents long enough to arrest them.

Luckily, there’s never an urgent need to blast through every mission at once. Players are free to explore as much of the city as they can and take on some special assignments in each level before actually going to the main objective. Players will have a blast deconstructing and rebuilding just about anything around them. The game itself is easy to pick up and hard to put down with its simple controls and helpful reminders of what to do and when to do it.

There are plenty of secrets to uncover as players explore the vast, sprawling city. As players gain more abilities, they are even encouraged to revisit older levels and discover even more hidden goodies. Dig into the nooks and crannies of buildings for all sorts of secret collectibles such as alternate costumes and new building abilities to build bigger and better objects.

LEGO City Undercover is also loaded with laughs. From cheesy references to classic films to witty dialogue spoken by many of LEGO City’s random citizens, players of all ages will get a kick out of anything the characters have to say.

With fast-paced action and plenty of humor, LEGO City Undercover makes for a wonderful addition to any gamer’s collection.
