Parents can now give kids many exciting play sessions without leaving a carbon footprint, thanks to KidKraft’s Lil’ Green World, a Walmart-exclusive collection of eco-friendly playsets and characters made from 100% recycled and recyclable products.
The collection includes four sets — Market Treehouse, Fairy Cottage, Acorn Food Truck, and Earth Helpers — featuring helpful forest friends, magical fairies, and sidekick sprites that encourage a universe of sharing, caring, and responsibility for the environment and others.
The Market Treehouse is a wooden treehouse made up of multiple platforms that feature a telescope, a dining table set, a farmer’s market, and a bedroom. The $59 set includes 25 pieces and four exclusive figures. The Fairy Cottage is a wooden, mushroom-shaped house with an attached Ferris wheel, a front porch, and a set of picnic tables. The $29.98 set includes 14 pieces and two exclusive figures. The Acorn Food Truck is shaped like Cinderella’s pumpkin carriage, and features a stove, a workspace, a side seat, and play ingredients. The $19.98 set also includes an exclusive figure. Earth Helpers are a collection of figures that come with their own accessory pieces. This $19.98 pack includes 15 pieces — three animals, two sprites, and 10 small accessories.
As part of KidKraft’s commitment to sustainability and Walmart’s initiative for zero plastic waste, Lil’ Green World’s packaging will be made from recyclable paper and cardboard. With each purchase of any item in the collection, KidKraft will donate 1% of the profits to 1% for the Planet, an international organization whose members contribute at least 1% of their annual sales to environmental causes to help fund diverse environmental organizations across the world.
Items in the collection are available for preorder on Walmart’s website now and will officially hit stores this summer. Orders are expected to arrive by June 9.
