There comes a time in every baby’s life where every toy (and non-toy) heads directly into their mouth. The second they gain control of those chubby little hands, it’s game on.

Itzy Ritzy designs a number of teethers for all ages of tot, but we need to talk about the Purple Dino assortment exclusive to Target. Parents (because cute designs are more for us than they are for babies) can purchase the Ring & Rattle Teether, Teething Pal, and Teething Mitt — all with a friendly, roarin’ theme.

The Teething Pal is just the friend young ones need. It features a small plush — you guessed it — purple dino on a ring that also contains a textured silicone teether. The bright colors and crinkling sounds of the plush engage little ones and encourage them to explore their senses. Since the Pal is small (about the size of a grown-up’s hand), it can travel easily. My 5-month-old toy tester keeps hers attached to her car seat’s handle as a distraction from boring car rides.

At the same time everything starts going into their mouth, babies also become increasingly aware of their hands. The Teething Mitt is a great thing to have during this time because it doesn’t require little ones to have the ability to fully grasp something yet. The mitt features an adjustable strap that you secure over the baby’s hand so that it stays put. Instead of only tasting their little baby hands, they can explore textures with the silicone Stegosaurus at the top, which features ridges and bumps for added sensory stimulation.

Last — but definitely not least — the Ring & Rattle Teether features a similar Stegosaurus with fun bumps for babies to explore. It also has two rings without any texture for a unique non-snack snack. The sounds and bright colors are engaging and keep babies occupied. This is a good toy to have around when babies are gaining the ability to grasp because it’s easy for little hands to hold on to and engaging enough that they want to hold onto it.

These prehistoric pals are small enough to be tossed into a diaper bag or into the toy box without taking up any space. They are also affordable enough at under $10 each to be included in a baby shower gift for those soon-to-be moms who love dinos.

Each of the teethers mentioned comes in other designs, like koalas, rainbows, and more cute characters — but we’ll be sticking to this dino-mite collection!
