We’re all familiar with Dr. Seuss’ story of that fateful rainy day when the Cat in the Hat came to play. Chaos, mayhem, Thing One and Thing Two getting everyone in trouble—it was insanity. Now, thanks to Wonder Forge, kids can bring the story of that day to life with the Dr. Seuss Thing Two and Thing One Whirly Fun! Game.

Players take turns drawing from the stack of cards, some of which let the player pick up all the objects of one color to quickly clean up the messy house. (Bonus: Kids are learning about colors and shapes with these object cards. Hooray for hidden learning!) If a player draws a Mom card, they must then move the Mom game piece one space closer to the door. As they race to clean up the chaos, a player might draw a Thing One or Thing Two card and the real mayhem begins. Players must spin the top and watch it fly through the house, causing a new mess.

The gameboard is absolutely adorable. This pop-up house is easy to set up and provides a different aesthetic than a typical tabletop board game. It features nostalgic illustrations from the original Cat in the Hat book that both new fans and older generations will adore. Each piece of the game is brightly colored, ensuring all of the Seuss-tastic fun.

The best part of this game is the element of cooperative play. Players must work together to get the house cleaned up before Mom gets home. Every game closet should have a couple of cooperative play games for younger kids. While competitive games have tons of benefits in themselves—learning healthy competition, etc.—cooperative games teach kids a whole different skill set. When kids are playing together to achieve a goal, the focus is more on teamwork, supporting each other, and learning how to work as a group.

So if the sun does not shine
And it’s too wet to play,
And you’re sitting in the house
On that cold, cold wet day.

If you’re sitting there with Sally,
Just sitting there, you two,
And you say, “How I wish
We had something to do!”

Instead of waiting and waiting
For Cat to show up that day,
Whirly Fun! is a safer bet
For that cold, rainy day.

**Dr. Seuss Thing Two and Thing One Whirly Fun! Game will be available this fall.
